The KBIG community joins the Wichita Area Builders Association (WABA) in honoring the life of Wesley “Wess” Galyon, a respected leader whose impact on the construction industry will be felt for generations.
Wess served as President and Chief Executive Officer of WABA for more than forty years, guiding the Association through significant growth while strengthening support for its members. His leadership was rooted in a clear belief that members deserve solutions built around their needs, backed by partners who understand the industry. That mindset helped shape stronger programs, deeper relationships and a more connected building community across the Wichita region.
Throughout his career, Wess was known not only for his leadership but for the way he brought people together. He was a trusted, dedicated advocate and a mentor to many. His commitment to supporting members extended beyond the work itself, creating lasting relationships and a sense of shared purpose.
Earlier this year, WABA honored his legacy by naming its headquarters The Wesley E. Galyon Building and recognizing him as its first President Emeritus.
Wess leaves behind a legacy defined by service, partnership and a deep commitment to the people who make up the construction industry. Our team is grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside him and to carry forward the values he championed.
KBIG extends its heartfelt condolences to the Galyon family, friends and all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
