One of the simplest ways to reduce risk on the job site is also one of the most effective: showing up prepared.
A daily PPE check helps ensure every worker starts the day ready for what lies ahead. Hard hats should be free from cracks and properly secured. Safety glasses need to be clean and clear. Gloves should fit correctly, high-visibility vests should be zipped and boots should provide proper traction. Hearing protection should always be available when conditions require it.
Most job site injuries don’t happen during major events — they happen in rushed moments, when workers assume yesterday’s gear is still good today. Taking a few extra seconds to inspect PPE can prevent minor hazards from becoming serious injuries.
Gear up, stay alert and help the whole crew go home safe. That’s the kind of safety culture the Kansas construction industry depends on, and one KBIG is proud to support. Check out our member safety resources for more tips on PPE best practices and jobsite safety.
